Job Summary
Operate and maintain heavy equipment including graders, tandem trucks, and vehicles with air brakes on provincial highways. Perform highway maintenance and construction tasks, ensuring road safety through plowing and applying sand and salt. Conduct normal equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and prepare work records. Work variable hours, including weekends and shifts, potentially in adverse weather conditions. The role supports the Department of Transportation and Infrastructure's mission to maintain New Brunswick's infrastructure and improve community safety.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of grade ten (10)
- Minimum of three (3) years' experience in the operation of heavy equipment
- Valid Class 1 driver's license with endorsement for airbrakes issued by the Province of New Brunswick
- An equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Written and spoken competence in English and French
