Job Summary
The Equipment Operator will safely and efficiently operate heavy machinery such as bulldozers, cranes, forklifts, and excavators to support construction or industrial projects. Responsibilities include conducting pre-operation inspections, reporting defects, following safety protocols, assisting with loading/unloading and moving materials, performing routine maintenance tasks, and maintaining records of equipment usage and incidents. Strong communication with supervisors and team members is required to coordinate tasks and ensure a safe, productive worksite. Key skills include meticulous attention to safety, adherence to operational guidelines, and effective communication; preferred qualifications include crane operator certifications, equipment maintenance/troubleshooting experience, OSHA familiarity, and basic mechanical aptitude.
Required Qualifications
- Valid operator certification or license for relevant heavy equipment as required by state regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proven experience operating heavy machinery in a construction, industrial, or similar environment
- Ability to understand and follow safety procedures and operational guidelines
- Physical ability to perform manual labor and operate machinery for extended periods
