Job Summary
Operate heavy machinery including bulldozers, backhoes, excavators, rollers, forklifts, loaders, and graders for digging, installing utilities, moving material, compacting, and grading. Inspect equipment before use by checking fluid levels, tires, and mechanical condition, then perform routine maintenance such as cleaning, greasing, and basic repairs. Follow project plans and blueprints to execute tasks accurately while ensuring the work area is safe, well-marked, and free of hazards. Load and unload trucks as needed and clean equipment after use. Troubleshoot issues with equipment and perform basic repairs. Adhere to all safety protocols, wear proper PPE, and follow regulations for safe operation. Work long periods including evenings and weekends in all weather conditions, lifting 25 pounds at a time.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to lift 25 pounds at a time
- Able to work long periods including evenings and weekends when necessary
- Must be able to operate machinery in all weather conditions and terrains
- Extensive knowledge of heavy machinery operation and capabilities
- Ability to read building plans related to structural concrete and land grades
- Excellent mechanical skills
- Ability to follow instructions
