Job Summary

Supervise and direct a work crew on highway and waterway construction, repair, and maintenance projects when the Crewleader is absent. Operate heavy equipment including bulldozers, excavators, loaders, graders, backhoes, dump trucks, and snowplows to construct roads, perform cold and hot mixing, and handle snow removal emergencies. Ensure all crew members utilize proper protective gear and provide training on newly assigned equipment. Perform tasks requiring electric and non-electric hand tools for general clean-up of county roads. Maintain availability for on-call snow removal and other emergencies. Requires a valid Class A Tractor Trailer license and four years of full-time heavy equipment experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school
  • Four years of full-time experience operating heavy equipment, or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • Must possess a valid Class A Tractor Trailer Utah Commercial Driver's license
  • Must possess a Driver's Medical Card
  • Must complete training and pass a test for Forklift Operations
  • Must pass a test for Hazard Communications
  • Must possess or obtain within 6 months of hire date Construction Traffic Control certification
  • Must be available for on call snow removal and other emergencies
