Job Summary
Operate Dump Trucks and heavy equipment across city job sites as part of Fort Worth Water Field Operations. Responsibilities include safely loading, transporting, and unloading heavy equipment, assisting with construction, repair, maintenance, and inspection of water and wastewater piping systems, performing manual labor (e.g., trench digging, pipe laying, material handling), ensuring safety standards, supporting field operations (traffic control, equipment maintenance), and performing various tools/equipment tasks. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, a Texas Class A CDL with a clean driving record, at least 1 year of relevant equipment operation experience, and the ability to obtain a TCEQ Water Distribution Class D or Wastewater Collection I license within 12 months. Work may include overtime, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations; physical ability to work outdoors in extreme conditions. A $2,000 sign-on incentive is offered, with opportunities for advancement and ongoing development within municipal operations.”,
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED (REQUIRED)
- A valid Texas Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) – Class A with an acceptable driving record
- One (1) year of professional experience operating motorized equipment, including dump trucks with trailers
- Ability to obtain a TCEQ Water Distribution Class D or Wastewater Collection I license within 12 months of hire (requires passing a written test and criminal background check)
- Flexibility to work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed, including participating in an on-call rotation schedule
- Ability to pass a physical examination, drug screen, and education and background verification
