Job Summary
Safely operate heavy equipment such as loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and excavators to load, unload, transport, and organize logs and lumber throughout the facility and yard. Perform daily equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance checks while monitoring performance to report concerns promptly. Maintain clean work areas and follow all safety procedures and OSHA regulations, including wearing required PPE. Assist with yard organization and inventory movement to support production operations and work closely with personnel to maintain workflow efficiency. Perform additional duties as assigned to support daily mill and yard operations.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to lift, bend, climb, and stand for extended periods as needed
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to work in varying weather conditions and outdoor environments
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment inspections
- Strong awareness of workplace safety practices
- Ability to safely operate loaders, forklifts, or other industrial equipment
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience operating heavy equipment in an industrial, manufacturing, logging, sawmill, or construction environment preferred
