Job Summary
Operate heavy equipment at construction sites in the Edmonton area, reading construction plans, performing pre-shift inspections, maintaining and securing equipment, reporting mechanical or safety issues, and coordinating with foreman, superintendent, and coworkers. Role requires traveling to various site-based projects, shift work (weekends), physically demanding work, and ability to work in diverse temperatures and environments. 1+ year construction experience and utility-construction familiarity are expected; experience with utility locates, loaded-trailer driving, and telecommunication/OSP exposure are assets. High school diploma or equivalent required. AFL emphasizes safety, environmental practices, and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- 1+ year of construction experience
- Experience in Utility Construction – ASSET
- Ability to understand and work with Utility locates
- Capable of working in all temperatures and climates and in confined spaces
- Ability to travel to various site-based projects if required
- Proficiency in driving with a loaded trailer an asset
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Clean driver’s abstract
- Previous Telecommunication/ OSP experience is an asset
