Job Summary
Operate heavy machinery including bulldozers, excavators, and loaders to assist in construction, maintenance, and repair of infrastructure projects. Conduct pre-operational checks and regular maintenance to ensure optimal performance and safety. Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to complete tasks accurately, while collaborating with team members to ensure seamless execution and adherence to safety protocols. Identify and report equipment malfunctions or hazards promptly, maintain accurate usage records, and assist in loading and unloading materials. Adhere to all safety regulations and participate in training sessions. Requires a high school diploma, three years of heavy equipment experience, strong physical stamina, and a valid driver's license.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating heavy equipment such as bulldozers, excavators, or loaders in a construction or industrial setting
- Proven track record of safely and efficiently operating equipment in compliance with safety regulations and company policies
- Experience in performing routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity
- Strong understanding of equipment operation and maintenance procedures, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic mechanical issues
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness to maneuver equipment in tight spaces and challenging environments
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, blueprints, and technical manuals to execute tasks accurately
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other stakeholders on project requirements and progress
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on safety and attention to detail
- Physical stamina and strength to perform manual labor and operate equipment for extended periods in various weather conditions
- Valid driver's license
- Commercial driver's license (CDL)
