Equipment Operator - 2nd Shift

Job Summary

Operate forklifts, wire-guided vehicles, and pallet jacks to safely load, move, and position freight while performing daily safety inspections. Verify trailer specifications, secure merchandise, and maximize space to ensure efficient transport. Inspect products for damage, confirm order accuracy, and support cross-dock functions including unloading, sorting, and consolidating stock. Maintain clean work areas and coordinate with warehouse personnel to keep operations running smoothly. Full-time Monday-Friday 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM schedule with a starting pay of $22.00 plus a .75 shift differential.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Ability to obtain and maintain certification on warehouse powered equipment
  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to lift 30–50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs with team lift
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced warehouse environment
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work overtime or weekends during peak periods
  • Must be able to safely operate forklifts, pallet jacks, wire-guided vehicles, and other powered equipment
  • Must be able to perform preliminary safety inspections on all assigned equipment
  • Must be able to maintain required certifications for wire-guided power equipment and radio-frequency unit use
  • Must be able to move and position freight onto trailers safely and efficiently
  • Must be able to verify trailer size and number, review load requirements, and check orders for accuracy
  • Must be able to secure merchandise using tape, shrink wrap, or other stabilizing materials
  • Must be able to ensure proper weight distribution for safe transport and vehicle stability
  • Must be able to maximize trailer space while minimizing load imbalance and damage risk
  • Must be able to inspect products for damage or defects; report quality concerns promptly
  • Must be able to verify product specifications, SKUs, quantities, and labels match order requirements
  • Must be able to support inventory accuracy by tracking item movement, documenting discrepancies, and assisting with stock monitoring
  • Must be able to maintain clean, safe work areas in alignment with facility safety guidelines
  • Must be able to coordinate with warehouse personnel, loaders, and drivers to support efficient workflow
  • Must be able to understand basic cross-dock functions, including unloading inbound freight, checking for damages/accuracy, and sorting by destination
  • Must be able to perform basic consolidation tasks such as stacking product efficiently, maximizing pallet capacity, and securing pallets for safe movement

Desired Qualifications

  • Prior warehouse experience
  • Previous powered-equipment experience (forklift, pallet jack, wire-guided systems)
