Job Summary
Equipment Operator 1 performs manual operation of trucks and lighter highway construction equipment, including maintaining and repairing equipment, keeping operation records, and assisting mechanics. The role requires operating a variety of construction vehicles (trucks, tractor mowers, loaders, rollers), performing minor maintenance, handling clerical tasks, and working extended hours on-call (24/7) to support normal and emergency highway operations at the Bowmansville Maintenance Building in Denver, PA, under supervision. Must hold a valid Class B CDL with N or X endorsement and a DOT Medical Certificate, with specific CDL restrictions not allowed, and meet safety and reliability requirements as part of a maintenance team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class B commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- N or X endorsement on CDL to operate tank vehicles
- No restrictions on CDL related to manual transmission (E)
- No intrastate restriction (K) for Trevose/Homewood/Searights locations only
- No airbrakes restriction (L or Z)
- Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Physical Card)
