Job Summary
Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, inspections, and repairs on approximately 60 pieces of commercial grounds equipment, including tractors, mowers, and utility carts. Respond to reactive mechanical issues, research and maintain inventory of parts and fluids, and maintain accurate service records and work order documentation. Conduct proactive spot inspections to ensure safety standards, operate welding equipment for metal repairs, and support special campus projects and events. Serve as a backup for carpool check-in and act as an emergency employee during inclement weather or disasters. Requires a valid Virginia Class D driver's license, three years of general equipment maintenance experience, and ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Reports to the Supervisor of Grounds.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in general equipment maintenance and repair
- Valid Virginia Class D driver's license
- Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer and printer
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of or ability to learn Microsoft Excel
