Job Summary
Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols to layout and fabricate components for heavy-duty lifting equipment. Fit, align, and weld structural steel using MIG, Stick, and Flux-Core methods in vertical, horizontal, and overhead positions. Operate fabrication tools including cutting torches, grinders, magnetic drills, and overhead cranes while conducting dimensional inspections to ensure parts meet tolerances. Maintain a safe, organized work area adhering to OSHA standards and collaborate with engineers to solve fabrication challenges. Participate in continuous improvement efforts to enhance efficiency and product quality. This full-time, permanent role includes base wage, production bonuses, and benefits such as 401(k), health insurance, and paid time off.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of welding and fitting experience in heavy steel fabrication
- Proficient in MIG and Flux-Core welding
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical and structural drawings
- Experience with heavy plate fabrication and large weldments
- Strong mechanical aptitude with a focus on accuracy and detail
- Must be able to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically demanding shop environment
Desired Qualifications
- Stick welding experience
- Familiarity with aerospace or primary metals industry standards
- Ability to operate forklifts and overhead cranes
- Certification for forklift and overhead crane operation
