Job Summary
Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules and policies for all construction equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and optimal working conditions. Maintain accurate inventory records, conduct regular inspections and audits, and coordinate repairs with Operations management to minimize downtime. Manage the equipment budget by forecasting costs, identifying savings, and tracking rental equipment while negotiating with suppliers to secure favorable pricing. Hire, motivate, and lead a high-performing team through coaching, performance reviews, and directed recruiting efforts. Address equipment-related issues promptly and resolve problems to support project timelines. Work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering with 10+ years of equipment logistics experience and a valid driver's license required. Certification in Equipment Management preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in construction management, Engineering or related field of study
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- At least 10+ years of related equipment logistics experience in the construction industry
- At least 14+ years of related equipment logistic experience in the construction industry
- Proven knowledge of construction equipment
- Proven knowledge of maintenance practices
- Proven knowledge of safety regulations
- Proficient with inventory management software and tools
- Valid and current driver's license
- Ability to effectively communicate in a positive and professional manner through written and verbal communications in all interfaces with customers/public, fellow employees, vendors, etc.
- Ability to use appropriate computer programs (including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite) which includes having proficient computer skills and the ability to adapt and learn as programs and processes change
- Ability to work as a team member and exert initiative to work independently to reach a goal
- Ability to embrace change in the workplace while encouraging others to seek innovative approaches
- Ability to function effectively as a team player and collaborator
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule and additional and/or different hours, including but not limited to nights, weekends, and/or holidays, as needed, to best serve the business operations
