Job Summary
Equipment Maintenance Technician responsible for identifying equipment repair/replacement needs and performing repairs, installations, maintenance, upgrades, and recommendations for institutional food service equipment across district kitchens. Completes work orders, maintains service records, conducts monthly/biannual/annual service tasks to ensure uninterrupted meal service, and reports to the Asset Management Coordinator. Duties include preventative maintenance, repairs, equipment relocation, parts procurement, startup/shutdown for school year openings, safety/sanitation compliance, and training of staff. May require evening/weekend duty or on-call responses; monitors temperatures in walk-in/reach-in units; adheres to district policies and safety standards; maintains a clean and organized shop area; collaborates with other trades to install or repair equipment.”
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years of maintenance, installation and repair of institutional food service equipment
- EPA G08 Certificates Types I, II, III and/or Universal (or able to obtain within 6 months of employment)
- Valid driver’s license (no convictions for careless or reckless driving or DWI in last five years)
- Computer literate and able to perform related record-keeping functions
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods
- Able to pass drug test and background screening
- Experience with preventative maintenance and repairs of food service equipment
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Associates degree preferred in a related field
- Flexibility to work evenings/weekends as needed
- Willingness to work within district policies and safety standards
