Equipment Maintenance Engineer

Job Summary
Resolve production-stopping issues, quality escapes, and yield-limiting faults for over 150 deployed test systems while managing all sustainment work via the Maintenance Management System. Maintain full configuration integrity by creating and updating formal documentation, running correlation tests, and supporting procurement of spares and upgrades. Lead obsolescence management, investigate root causes, and drive corrective actions and non-conformance resolutions to ensure equipment reliability. Champion Health & Safety by writing risk assessments, enforcing safe practices, and acting as an authorised LOTO competent person. Drive continuous improvement through lean initiatives and actively participate in internal and external quality audits.
Required Qualifications
- Essential HNC/HND or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a relevant engineering sector
- Ideally aerospace, test systems, or industrial maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving ability
- Sound engineering judgement
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Visio)
- Willingness and ability to obtain UK Security Clearance
- Ability to work flexibly and occasionally outside standard hours to support critical maintenance
Desired Qualifications
- Experience designing or maintaining multi-axis, closed-loop, servo-hydraulic or electromechanical test systems
- Familiarity with tools such as JIRA, MMS, NX, AutoCAD, or LabVIEW
- Knowledge of robotics or automation systems
- Understanding of aerospace quality standards and maintenance processes
- Experience working directly with customers or cross-functional global teams
- Natural team player who thrives in multi-disciplinary environments
- Highly organised — able to manage up to 10 concurrent activities and prioritise effectively
- Proactive, reliable, and comfortable making sound technical judgements under pressure
