Job Summary
Conduct daily pre- and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment, documenting findings in compliance with DOT guidelines. Perform minor servicing and maintenance, report major issues to supervisors, and ensure all loads are properly secured according to safety requirements. Maintain accurate mileage logs, keep the truck clean and orderly, and communicate via two-way radio while following all company policies. Travel for day trips or overnight when required, adapting to traffic, weather, and uneven terrain. Successfully pass drug and background tests in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations.
Required Qualifications
- Valid CDL driver license
- Proven work experience as a truck driver
- Good driving record
- Oversize load (width, length, and height) hauling experience
- Ability to travel overnight occasionally
- Adaptability and foresight to handle unexpected situations (traffic, weather, conditions, etc.)
- Knowledge of applicable trucking driving rules and regulations
- Ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in tight spaces
- Ability to work in extreme weather
- Ability to walk considerable distances in the facility during the day
- Sits behind driving wheel for extended periods of time
- Successfully pass drug & background tests in compliance with company policy and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Good English verbal communication
- Legible handwriting
- Basic math
