Job Summary
Design 3D models for manufacturing air handling units and computer room solutions using Inventor/Creo; produce detailed drawings and BOMs to guide production; collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize manufacturability, quality, and cost. Responsibilities include generating precise technical drawings and specifications for tooling, updating documentation to ensure traceability to JCI standards, assisting in prototyping and testing assemblies, reviewing existing designs for efficiency, and managing multiple design projects to meet timelines. Requires a college diploma or university degree in mechanical engineering design and drafting technology, proficiency in CAD with GD&T and drafting standards (ASME Y14), and experience with Inventor and CREO/Windchill is an asset; strong planning, organizational, and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- College diploma or University degree in mechanical engineering design and drafting technology, or a related field
- Experience with CAD software including GD&T and standardized drafting practices
- Experience with Inventor and CREO/Windchill considered an asset
- Maintain drawing accuracy through version control, documentation updates, and adherence to drafting standards ASME Y14
- Ability to develop accurate manufacturing specifications in a timely manner
- Proficiency in creating preliminary designs or conceptualizing design
- Experience supporting mechanical products and assemblies in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
