Job Summary
Equipment Associate at United Rentals performs a variety of manual tasks to support branch operations and trench safety equipment readiness. Responsibilities include assembling, loading and unloading equipment, assisting with deliveries, preparing equipment for rental, conducting routine safety checks, verifying delivery tickets and returns for accuracy, greeting customers and answering equipment-related questions, and suggesting equipment and supplies to meet customer needs. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, following procedures, and attention to detail, with potential advancement into the Driver development program. PPE and work boots are provided by the company; the role is safety-sensitive. The position requires the ability to lift up to 45 lbs and strong customer service and communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- Experience operating medium to large forklifts preferred
- Knowledge of trench safety equipment is an advantage but not required
- Some knowledge of computers and phone apps
- Superior customer service, teamwork, and verbal/written communication skills
- Diligent attention to safety
- Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs
