Job Summary
Assemble machine parts at close tolerance using blueprint instructions and verify parts availability against bill of materials. Collaborate with engineering to validate blueprints and spec sheets, then gather hardware including nuts, bolts, and screws for assembly. Perform necessary drilling or sawing on parts and assist in moving machinery with a chain hoist, electric lift truck, or hand dolly truck. Utilize precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers, and operate hand tools, drill presses, lathes, mills, and powered lift trucks. Execute various welding techniques including MIG, TIG, ARC, spot, and braze, specializing in stainless steel.
Required Qualifications
- Previous mechanical experience such as production mechanic, auto mechanic, machine shop experience or hands-on machine shop classes
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometer, vernier, calipers, etc.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Must have good communications skills
- Must pass company administered mechanical test
- Experience with all types of hand tools, drill press, lathe, mill, floor standing saw and powered lift truck
- Ability to perform all types of welding: MIG, TIG, ARC, Spot, Braise; specializing in stainless steel
- Non-Union Shop Position is 1st shift, Monday - Friday
