Job Summary
Equine Therapy Manager leads Southeastern Life Center’s Equine Therapy Program, overseeing development and programming including adaptive riding, veteran programming, equine-assisted psychotherapy, and hippotherapy. Responsibilities include PATH International accreditation compliance and representation, facility and herd management, staff and volunteer supervision, client outreach and services, budget planning, program quality aligned with PATH standards, and collaboration with the HORSE Therapies Committee. The role requires strong leadership, program development and management experience, excellent communication, teaching of adaptive riding, and ability to travel as needed. Provides oversight of staff, volunteers, instructors, interns, risk management, and public relations/fundraising support.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Therapeutic Horsemanship or a related field
- PATH International Certified Mental Health and Learning Instructor within 6 months of hiring
- PATH International Therapeutic/Adaptive Riding Instructor Certification
- Thorough knowledge of PATH International standards
- Extensive knowledge of disabilities and equine-assisted activities and therapies
- Excellent horsemanship knowledge and ability to teach others
- Advanced horseback riding skills and ability to train therapy horses
- PATH International Mentor
- Experience in leadership roles with program development and management
- Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable criminal background check
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work day, evening, weekend and holiday hours as needed
