Equestrian Groom

Equestrian Groom responsible for equine care and services at Brays Island Plantation. Duties include caring for up to ~70 horses (feeding, exercising, grooming, bathing), assigning horses for exercise and schooling, providing exceptional service to Owners and guests, conducting trail rides, cleaning stalls and facilities, evaluating horse health and communicating needs, administering medications as directed, coordinating equestrian activities (trail rides, summer camps, clinics), and teaching English or Western riding to riders of all ages. Must track horse activity, document treatments, and maintain communication logs. Ability to read notes from farrier and veterinarian, understand horse equipment, and perform other duties as assigned. Physical requirements include long hours, weekends/holidays, valid SC driver's license, proficiency in English, ability to lift 50-75 lbs, and operation of common office equipment. Environment includes indoor/outdoor work in various weather, with potential travel around the plantation. Education: College degree preferred; hands-on experience also valued. Experience: 3-5 years riding experience with 2-3 years in a stable or equestrian environment.
