Epidemiologist Consultant

Job Summary
Design, evaluate, and optimize integrated surveillance systems for communicable diseases, chronic disease trends, and behavioral health indicators. Monitor disease incidence and prevalence trends to support evidence-based public health action on shipboard populations. Collect and analyze health data to identify emerging patterns, translating findings into strategic response recommendations for outbreak containment and operational mitigation. Conduct epidemiologic research focused on crew health, vaccination strategies, and preventive initiatives while assessing global public health threats to inform preparedness planning. Collaborate with clinical, operational, and leadership stakeholders to integrate insights into fleet-wide health strategies and policies.
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Epidemiology, Public Health, or related discipline
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in epidemiology
- Strong exposure to surveillance systems
- Strong exposure to outbreak investigation
- Strong exposure to population health analytics
- Advanced proficiency in epidemiologic analysis
- Advanced proficiency in data interpretation
- Advanced proficiency in visualization
- Experience with analytic tools used to support executive and operational decision-making
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to synthesize complex data into clear, practical recommendations for diverse stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams
