Job Summary
Environmental Technician responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of landfill gas extraction systems, leachate collection systems, and related monitoring systems at Republic Services’ landfills. Duties include conducting environmental sampling (groundwater, surface water, air quality, and gas migration), measuring and recording gas levels at landfill well fields and boundary probes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and federal/state requirements, troubleshooting systems, managing leachate operations, performing landfill surveying as needed, and preparing/submitting required reporting data related to gas extraction and leachate. Emphasis on adhering to safety regulations, regulatory compliance, and efficient, safe performance; clear communication with management; and maintaining a proactive safety culture.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working at a site regulated by OSHA
- Good time management skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to adhere to Company policies and rules and to safety standards
