Job Summary
Environmental Technician responsible for field sampling (air, water, soil, groundwater, sediment), data collection, operation and maintenance of remediation systems, troubleshooting equipment, groundwater monitoring, field inspections at commercial/industrial sites, overseeing subcontractors, ensuring regulatory compliance, and documenting findings. Requires outdoor, travel-heavy work, mechanical aptitude, safety focus, ability to lift 50+ pounds, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team; travel including occasional overnight stays with potential training provided.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
- Willingness and ability to travel for project assignments, including occasional overnight travel
- Ability to perform field work in varying weather conditions and on active project sites
- Ability to lift, carry, and operate equipment weighing 50 pounds or more
- Strong work ethic, dependability, and attention to detail
- Good communication and record-keeping skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and field equipment
- Commitment to following company health and safety procedures
- Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification
- Associate degree, technical training, or coursework in environmental science, engineering technology, industrial maintenance, or a related field
