Job Summary
Clean up, mitigate, and decommission oil-filled equipment and electrical apparatus used in energy distribution. Respond to PCB and non-PCB transformer oil releases, operate oil filters, and manage vehicle and material handling equipment including forklifts and cranes. Complete documentation, database entry, and sketches while ensuring public safety and adhering to construction standards. Mix concrete and perform similar duties as required, including emergency management assignments. Requires a CDL, HAZWOPER training, and two years of construction field experience.
Required Qualifications
- Must have or be able to qualify for a State of Hawaii driver's license
- Must meet the standards for driving positions stated in the Hiring Standards for Driving Positions policy
- Must have State of Hawaii Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Must be able to obtain a Medical Examiner's Certificate
- Must be able to satisfactorily complete Hazardous Waste Operations & Emergency Response Act (HAZWOPER) training
- Must be able to qualify for Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
- Will be required for off-island and after-hours work
- Must have 2 years minimum work experience in the construction field including but not limited to masonry, carpentry, utility equipment and infrastructure including excavation and trench shoring or equivalent experience
- Must have or be able to qualify for MECO's Forklift training within 3 months of hire
- Must have working knowledge of computers, including Microsoft Office products - MS Word, Excel and Outlook
