Job Summary
Environmental Technician II will be responsible for knowing the location and treatment for inbound waste streams, able to treat and process waste with onsite equipment (pit mixing, drum pumping, drum dumping), and must complete required paperwork. Responsibilities include collecting samples of inbound waste for compatibility, unloading bulk liquid trucks to proper tanks, resolving and reporting issues with inbound loads, operating hi-lo and end loaders safely, and applying knowledge of waste streams and their treatment protocols. Must meet required training and safety standards and perform related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience working with hazardous materials
- High School diploma or GED
- Ability to operate equipment including forklift and pallet jack
- Visual acuity to read labels and documentation; depth perception to safely drive forklifts
- Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms
- Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions
- Willingness to wear company-issued PPE including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator
