Environmental Technician - EMA

Job Summary

Conduct aquatic and fisheries field assessments, including electrofishing, habitat evaluation, and benthic invertebrate sampling. Collect, record, and manage environmental field data while preparing, calibrating, and maintaining field equipment. Support analysis and interpretation of monitoring data, assist with technical report preparation, and travel to project sites across British Columbia under varying weather conditions. Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safety, quality, and client service. Requires a valid driver's license and experience with surface water quality monitoring.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of environmental consulting or related field experience
  • Diploma or degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Fisheries, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, or a related discipline
  • Experience conducting fisheries and aquatic field assessments, including electrofishing and benthic invertebrate sampling
  • Experience with surface water quality sampling and environmental monitoring programs
  • Knowledge of provincial and federal environmental regulations and standard field protocols
  • A valid Canadian driver's license for the past three years, and the ability to meet the requirements for our third-party automobile insurance policy
  • Must be authorized to work in Canada at the time of application
  • Must be available to travel to project sites throughout British Columbia and work safely in remote environments under varying weather conditions

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with R software
