Job Summary
Conduct routine fieldwork including environmental multi-media sampling, equipment operations, maintenance, and inspections under close supervision. Perform tasks supporting project staff on groundwater remediation systems, extraction of impacted groundwater, recovery system maintenance, and groundwater sampling to monitor performance. Compile field data, set up and operate equipment, and inspect installations for compliance while maintaining proper project documentation. Requires OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training, valid driver's license, and US citizenship.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- US citizenship
- Pass a pre-employment substance abuse test
- Pass a pre-employment criminal background check
- Pass a motor vehicle records check
- OSHA 40-hour hazardous site worker training
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in general construction and environmental remediation/sampling
- Hands-on mechanical experience and interests (examples include construction, home repair, and auto maintenance)
- Ability to obtain the Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) within 30 days of hire
- Mechanical skills and hands-on skills
- Experience with various media sampling (soil, groundwater, and waste)
- Experience with health and safety programs
- Effective communication skills (verbal, field notes, etc.)
