Environmental Task Manager/Assistant Project Manager

Job Summary

Conduct soil, groundwater, and air sampling in compliance with State and Federal standards while overseeing subcontractors and managing fieldwork up to 50% of your time. Implement injection or in-situ remedial technologies, coordinate work schedules, and produce figure/map/boring logs. Provide emergency response support for train derailments and HAZMAT spills, including sample planning and regulator correspondence. Compile and evaluate data to assist with technical reports, work plans, and cost estimates. This full-time role in Charlotte, NC requires travel throughout the southeast, outdoor work in all weather conditions, and lifting up to 50 lbs. Candidates must possess a BS in Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science with 4-6 years of experience and proficiency in MS Office.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Geology, Geosciences, or Environmental Science
  • 4 - 6 years of related work experience
  • Proficiency at using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • A current valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions and for extended periods
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands associated with performing field work, including lifting heavy equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to work alone at remote sites

Desired Qualifications

  • Current OSHA HAZWOPER 40 HR / 8 HR training
  • Previous industry, consulting, or regulatory internship experience
  • 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response training
