Job Summary

Conduct database entry, clean up, and data quality review while assisting with report reviews and filing of field reports. Provide support to Environmental Specialists and Coordinators, including generating supporting data and forms for regulatory application submissions. Complete regular site visits to assist with Worksite Safety Observations and participate in cross-referencing field activities with program inventory. Work Monday through Friday, 8 hours per day, on a 5 days on, 2 days off schedule for a 4-month term starting May 2027. This role offers hands-on experience in both office and field environments for students in environmental disciplines.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or diploma program in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Technology, Biology, Geography, Natural Resources, or a related discipline
  • Positive attitude and eagerness to learn
  • Interest in environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and supporting responsible resource development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment
  • Comfortable working in both office and field settings, including travel to operating sites and exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Alberta driver's license (or equivalent) and are comfortable driving a half-ton truck to field locations
  • A pre-employment drug screening test must be successfully completed
  • All candidates applying to Canadian Natural must have legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience operating a pickup truck and comfort traveling to field locations in varying road and weather conditions are considered assets
  • Previous environmental, regulatory, reclamation, remediation, or oil and gas field experience would be considered an asset
