Job Summary
Manage hazardous waste disposal services and shipments for clients in life sciences, manufacturing, and healthcare sectors by preparing chemical and biological waste for shipment, ensuring segregation, container labelling, and chain of custody documentation. Operate commercial vehicles to transport hazardous materials across the Greater Toronto Area while conducting spill response measures and emergency situations involving hazardous materials. Perform technical expertise and labour at municipal Household Hazardous Waste events on weekends throughout Ontario and occasionally document Environmental Health and Safety audits. This role requires travel using a company vehicle, adherence to OHSA regulations, and the ability to lift 60 pounds regularly. Candidates must complete a professional advancement program in hazardous waste management. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or College diploma in an environmental/chemistry related discipline or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry
- Ability to work as a member of a team as well as individually
- Must demonstrate strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and professional exchanges of information
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes
- Skilled in building strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues
- Ability to work overtime on as needed basis
- Ability to complete a 2-to-3-year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management
- Must be able to follow company personal protective equipment policies
- Valid Ontario driver's license
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
- Must be eligible to work in Canada without future sponsorship
- Must be able to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis
