Job Summary
Mortenson is seeking an Environmental Specialist to support environmental management across Civil, Solar, Wind, and High Voltage Transmission projects in North America. Responsibilities include implementing environmental programs on project sites, developing site-specific environmental plans, reviewing submittals, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading environmental orientation and training, managing best management practices, monitoring mitigation measures, conducting site inspections, and coordinating with customers, environmental consultants, and regulatory representatives. Requires a Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, at least four years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of environmental laws, and the ability to travel up to 50%. Based in Portland, OR or Seattle, WA with occasional travel.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Geology, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
- Minimum of four years related experience
- Significant experience with erosion prevention and sediment control, storm water pollution prevention plans, spill prevention controls and countermeasures, wetlands, endangered species
- Strong understanding of Federal, State, Provincial and local laws, policies and procedures
- A well-organized and self-directed individual who is collaborative and a team player
- Ability to interact with consultants and governmental agencies
- Current driver’s license
- Able to travel up to 50%
