Environmental Specialist

Job Summary
Own and manage all site environmental compliance programs, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations including EPA, RCRA, and Clean Air Act Title V. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and lead environmental audits, inspections, and reporting activities while preparing and submitting all permits and documentation on time. Manage hazardous waste programs, coordinate monitoring and sampling, and interpret results to recommend corrective actions. Lead incident investigations, implement root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives for waste minimization. Collaborate cross-functionally to integrate environmental requirements into plant operations and deliver training to employees. Interface with contractors, consultants, and auditors to support environmental programs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field
- 5+ years of environmental experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Knowledge of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and compliance requirements
- Experience with key regulatory programs such as PSM, RMP, hazardous waste (RCRA), and air/water permitting
- Demonstrated ability in root cause analysis, problem-solving, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders (regulators, auditors, contractors)
- Strong analytical and technical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related scientific field strongly preferred
- 5+ years of environmental experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred
