Environmental Specialist

Job Summary
Environmental Specialist responsible for environmental compliance monitoring at the mine site in Geraldton, Ontario, reporting to the Environmental Superintendent. Coordinates and executes environmental programs, including sampling, data management, site inspections, and incident response; leads procedure development and refinement to reflect industry best practices; collaborates with technical and operations teams to achieve program deliverables; provides leadership and coaching to environmental technicians; promotes safety culture through daily, weekly, and monthly safety meetings; performs inspections and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure workplace safety; ensures compliance with environmental permits, licenses, and regulations; requires 5+ years of experience with 1+ year of supervisory experience, strong organizational and communication skills, SAP familiarity, and a degree or diploma in Environmental Management, Science, or Engineering.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Environmental Management, Science, or Engineering
- 5+ years of relevant work experience
- 1+ year of supervisory experience
- Experience in environmental project management
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- Knowledge of environmental legislation and standards in Ontario
- Experience with SAP (asset)
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work outdoors in inclement weather
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to lead and coach teams
