Job Summary
Conduct wetland and waterway delineations, prepare environmental documentation under NEPA requirements, and execute Phase I Environmental Site Assessments. Perform field data collection for natural resource surveys, compile soil and water samples, and utilize GPS and GIS software to develop project-specific maps. Analyze survey data to assess impacts and develop mitigation plans, while coordinating with government agencies and assisting in public outreach efforts. Review reports and computations for accuracy, respond to regulatory comments, and support business development proposals. This role requires a Certified FHWA/INDOT NEPA specialist with 2-4 years of experience, based in Indianapolis, IN.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or other related field
- 2-4 years of relevant work experience in consulting or regulatory environment, in the environmental science field
- Certified in FHWA/INDOT NEPA
- Ability to work well and self-motivate in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to work in variable conditions, including uneven ground and access to remote sites
- Strong team player with effective internal & external communication skills
- Proficient in MS Office applications
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
- Close vision for computer and document review
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds
- Consistent, reliable attendance and punctuality
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with ARC GIS preferred
