Environmental Specialist/Engineer

Job Summary
Interpret and develop environmental policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure conformance with regulations. Monitor compliance in assigned areas, direct related reports, and initiate steps to prevent environmental issues. Design engineering designs and cost estimates for environmental equipment, while identifying causes of developing problems and communicating recommendations to senior management. Keep abreast of legislative changes, regulatory actions, and international standards to assess impacts and submit required reports and permits. Develop training materials, conduct sessions, and represent the company with trade associations and regulatory agencies. Serve as a technical resource for Government Affairs and maintain key industry contacts.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 10 years of relevant environmental experience in a process industry (e.g. refining, midstream, petrochemical or other heavy industrial)
- Bachelor's degree in a HES related field
- 5 years relevant environmental experience
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- 2 years relevant environmental experience
- Ability to monitor compliance with environmental regulations
- Ability to develop business acumen and technical knowledge
- Valid driver's license
