Environmental Services Worker I (PRN, Nights)

Job Summary
Cleans and sanitizes assigned areas including rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, and elevators while adhering to infection control standards. Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and dusts floors and equipment; performs maintenance on hard and carpeted surfaces by stripping, refinishing, and treating floors and upholstery. Washes walls, ceilings, windows, and woodwork to maintain hygiene. Restocks supplies, monitors inventory levels, and reports shortages. Handles trash and biohazardous materials safely, collecting, transporting, and disposing of them in compliance with safety and HIPAA protocols. Operates and maintains cleaning equipment, reporting malfunctions or repair needs. Assists with minor repairs and reports larger facility issues. Performs other duties as assigned. Requires 1-2 years of cleaning experience and completion of an assigned SAMA course within 30 days of hire for Indiana, Mississippi, and North Carolina locations.
Required Qualifications
- Physical ability to perform repetitive tasks and lift or move objects as needed
- Indiana: IN Lutheran Hospital requires successful completion of assigned SAMA course within 30 days of hire
- Mississippi: Successful completion of assigned SAMA course within 30 days of hire required
- North Carolina: Successful completion of assigned SAMA course within 30 days of hire required
Desired Qualifications
- 1-2 years of cleaning or environmental service experience preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and products
- Understanding of infection control and safety standards
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment effectively and safely
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with staff, patients, and visitors
