Job Summary
Conduct routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces in common areas, offices, restrooms, and resident rooms. Maintain cleanliness in kitchens, laundry rooms, and storage areas while emptying trash receptacles and restocking hygiene supplies. Perform deep cleaning on a rotating schedule and report maintenance or safety issues such as leaks or broken fixtures immediately. Follow all safety procedures for chemical handling and PPE use, and interact respectfully with staff and residents in residential and program facilities. Work evenings and weekends as needed to accommodate activity schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Age 21 or older
- High school diploma or GED
- TB screening
- Frist Aid/CPR
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to multi-task
- Strong decision making and problem-solving skills
- Critical listening and thinking skills
- Strong time management skills
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Live within commuting distance of the NAMI facility, group home and duplex
Desired Qualifications
- Non-Profit experience
- Prior experience in environmental services, housekeeping, custodial, or janitorial work
- Knowledge of safe cleaning practices, including chemical handling and infection control
- Strong attention to detail and reliability
