Job Summary
Maintain assigned areas in the medical center by performing cleaning functions while following assigned schedules and specific methods to provide a sanitary, orderly, and safe patient care environment. Prevent cross-contamination, control bacteria and odors, and sustain acceptable aseptic conditions. Sweep, mop, wax vinyl tile floors, vacuum, shampoo carpets, and scrub grout areas using walk-behind machines, side-by-side scrubbers, and carpet extractors. Manage, sort, clean, and distribute clean linens throughout the hospital while collecting solid linens and maintaining inventory records. Assist with furniture moves, recycling, curtain replacement, supply delivery, and the removal of trash and biohazard waste.
Required Qualifications
- Previous cleaning experience in healthcare, school, or hospitality setting
- Experience operating floor equipment, sweepers, and commercial washers/dryers
- Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Basic knowledge of computer programs for documentation purposes
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Capable of managing challenging or crisis situations
- Excellent customer service skills with patients, staff, and visitors
- Familiarity with basic EVS equipment and cleaning protocols
- High school Diploma or GED Equivalent
