Job Summary
Clean and disinfect patient rooms, restrooms, corridors, and support areas according to established schedules and procedures. Remove waste, soiled linens, and recycling while following infection prevention guidelines. Operate environmental services equipment such as vacuums and floor machines safely. Replenish soap, sanitizer, and supplies in assigned spaces. Report maintenance, safety, or infection control concerns promptly. Provide courteous communication with patients, visitors, and coworkers. Schedules include day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts. Requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting items up to 50 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- Ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to communicate effectively with staff, patients, and visitors
- Adequate vision
- Adequate hearing
- Adequate manual dexterity
- Ability to push or pull carts that may weigh in excess of 100 pounds
- Ability to lift or carry items weighing approximately 35–50 pounds
- Ability to perform frequent standing and walking on hard surfaces for the majority of the shift
- Ability to bend, kneel, reach, and perform repetitive arm and hand movements
- Strict adherence to infection prevention practices
- Use of personal protective equipment
- Compliance with hazard communication and safety policies
- Ability to work day, evening, night, weekend, and holiday shifts
Desired Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED
- Prior housekeeping, healthcare, or commercial cleaning experience
- Knowledge of cleaning methods, materials, and equipment
