Job Summary
Perform daily and discharge cleaning of patient rooms, restrooms, and assigned areas following defined sequences and high-touch surface protocols. Safely prepare, use, and store cleaning chemicals while handling regulated medical waste, sharps, and linen. Replenish supplies, maintain equipment, and document completed tasks in logs or EVS software. Respond to room requests and service calls promptly while adhering to hand hygiene and safety policies. Participate in ongoing training and competency checks. Requires regular attendance, potential weekend/after-hours work, and on-call availability.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Six (6) months of cleaning, hospitality, or healthcare support experience
- Certified Health Care Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) credential
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles
- Must be able to twist, bend, stoop, and kneel
- Must be able to reach above shoulder level
- Must be able to push and pull
- Must be able to perform fine-finger movements
- Must have close visual acuity
- Must be able to learn new tasks, remember processes, maintain focus, complete tasks independently, and make timely decisions
- Must be able to handle cleaning products, disinfectants, and other substances
- Must be able to handle bloodborne pathogens
- Must be able to handle infectious diseases
- Must be able to work beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts
- Must be able to work on-call
- Must be able to work in a busy and stressful environment
- Must be able to learn current and new computer applications and office equipment utilized at Bozeman Health
- Must have strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Must be able to analyze, organize, and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines
- Must be able to practice excellent customer service
- Must be able to respond to room requests and service calls in a timely, professional manner
- Must be able to adhere to hand hygiene, standard precautions, and safety policies
- Must be able to participate in initial and ongoing EVS training and competency checks
- Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment, patience, and maintain a professional demeanor
- Must be able to exercise tact, discretion, sensitivity, and maintain confidentiality
