Job Summary
Environmental Services Tech Housekeeping PRN role responsible for general housekeeping to maintain a sanitary, safe, and attractive facility in alignment with hospital and Joint Commission standards. Core duties include cleaning and disinfecting assigned areas, proper disposal of infectious waste, handling emergency spills, and following infection prevention practices (hand hygiene, standard and isolation precautions) and PPE use. Must follow cleaning procedures and safely use cleaning chemicals per Joint Commission and OSHA requirements; maintain storage areas according to policy; and work with flexibility to meet department needs. Strong emphasis on reading labels, applying color-coded labeling for chemicals, effective communication, independence, safe work practices, and professional housekeeping experience.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated communication skills including differentiating color-coded labels and/or chemicals and following written and/or verbal directions
- Ability to work a flexible schedule when needed to meet department needs
- Demonstrated professional housekeeping experience
- Ongoing ability to see, read information, labels, and monitors; identify equipment and supplies; and assess customer needs
- Manual dexterity to manipulate equipment; ability to lift and carry heavy items as needed
- Ability to read labels and follow cleaning procedures per Joint Commission and OSHA standards
