Job Summary
Environmental Services Tech, Days at Mercy Hospital Springfield — responsible for maintaining cleanliness, safety, and infection-control standards in a hospital environment. Ensures a hygienic and sterile environment to support patient care, performing manual cleaning tasks, following written and verbal instructions, and providing courteous service to the public. Requires high school diploma or equivalent, prior hospital environmental service experience, the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, prolonged standing and walking, and flexibility to work daytime shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior hospital environmental service experience
- Prior work experience following written and verbal instructions
- Previous experience with performing manual tasks
- Prior experience working with the public; customer service
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat
