Job Summary
Environmental Services Manager to lead the environmental services department in a long-term care setting. Responsible for maintaining building systems (plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and emergency systems), managing a unionized team, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, controlling budgets and capital spend, and driving resident and family satisfaction through proactive leadership, training, and relationship-building with residents, staff, leadership, and vendor partners. Emphasis on hands-on mentoring, engagement, and collaboration with the Executive Director and leadership team to optimize quality of life for residents.
Required Qualifications
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a related field or equivalent is required
- Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a managerial or supervisor capacity in environmental services/maintenance in a unionized environment
- Must be enrolled or willing to enroll in the Property Admin Certificate (PAC) program
- Knowledge of building systems including basic plumbing, electrical, mechanical, HVAC and emergency systems (Operator certification or Journeyperson considered an asset)
- Knowledge and experience related to evidence-based practices in housekeeping, laundry and maintenance with budget management experience
- Vulnerable Sector Check (Criminal Background Check) within six months or willingness to obtain one
