Job Summary
Environmental Services Manager responsible for directing environmental services in a retirement home, overseeing housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance; managing departmental budgets and ensuring resources and equipment are available; hiring, training, scheduling, and coaching staff; maintaining clean, sanitary facilities; supervising grounds and waste management; ensuring timely laundering of residents' clothing; supporting fire safety and quality assurance programs; implementing preventative maintenance and continuous improvement initiatives; weekend and holiday coverage required; holds post-secondary credential and relevant Fire Safety training; prior supervisory/management experience in related services preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a degree or diploma from a post-secondary institution with relevant background in environmental services
- Fire Safety planning training for owners and operators per provincial regulations
- Background in the building trades is advantageous
- Two years of supervisory and/or management experience in housekeeping, laundry, or maintenance practices
- Ability to lead and supervise a diverse team and manage budgets
