Job Summary
Organize and coordinate ancillary environmental services including maintenance, laundry, and housekeeping. Direct hiring, orientation, and performance evaluations for staff while conducting in-service education sessions. Complete work orders, manage supply requisitions, and establish preventative maintenance schedules for building systems. Communicate repair needs to corporate project managers and ensure inventory levels remain adequate. Apply knowledge of Long-Term Care and Occupational Health and Safety legislation to oversee operations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years' experience in a supervisory capacity
- Sound knowledge of the Long-Term Care Act
- Sound knowledge of the Nursing Home Act
- Sound knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Sound knowledge of WHMIS
- Sound knowledge of other pertinent Federal, Provincial and Municipal legislation that influences the operation of a Long-term care residence
- Extensive knowledge of maintenance
- Experience in building trades
- Post secondary education at the college or university level in an accredited course in building services supervision
