Job Summary
Maintain a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas by emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, and using brooms, mops, or powered machines. Demonstrate knowledge of housekeeping processes and tools to provide a clean, sterile environment for patients, residents, visitors, and staff while wearing proper protective equipment. Keep storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked and tidy. Assist in laundry areas as appropriate and use pagers and technology applications when needed. Perform physical tasks including lifting up to 50 lbs and working on feet for the majority of the shift. Work evening shifts Monday through Friday, 24 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 40-50lbs
- Ability to push/pull up variable weight limits on flat surfaces or up and down ramps
- Ability to be on their feet for the majority of their shift
Desired Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience
- Ability to use computer
- Prior cleaning experience
- Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods and cleaning chemicals
- Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment
