Job Summary
Provides and oversees cleaning and disinfection services to ensure a hygienic environment for patients and staff in a healthcare setting. Initiates daily cleaning and disinfecting activities (e.g. cleaning patient rooms, operating rooms, distributing clean linens), educates cleaning staff on proper use of cleaning equipment and sterilization agents, inspects areas and equipment for cleanliness and regulatory compliance, and maintains records and reports related to housekeeping supplies, equipment and personnel.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Ability to use computer and prior cleaning experience in a healthcare setting is helpful
- Knowledge of materials, equipment and methods used in cleaning is helpful
