Job Summary

Coordinate, direct, and monitor assigned EVS Technicians to perform environmental services with emphasis on infection control within a prison healthcare facility. Maintain professional relationships with site Point of Contact, such as unit Custody Officers and medical staff, to assure services are performed according to contract and resolve service problems. Schedule and prioritize tasks, ensuring adherence to procedures and regulations while minimizing errors and safety risks. Train and observe current and new staff on proper use of procedures, processes, equipment, and supplies. Ensure all required paperwork is complete, accurate, and signed. Perform other duties and special projects as assigned. Work alongside EVS Technicians toward fulfillment of contractual responsibilities. This role supports PRIDE Industries' mission to create jobs for people with disabilities while providing high-quality solutions to nationwide customers.

Required Qualifications

  • Six (6) months to one year of experience in custodial services and/or building maintenance, including lead responsibilities
  • Knowledge of Cal OSHA and OSHA occupational safety regulations
  • Knowledge of departmental operations and procedures, and organizational policies
  • Knowledge of specialized departmental custodial services equipment
  • Computer literacy including skill to operate word processing, spreadsheet, Internet, and presentation software applications
  • Ability to train employees in proper departmental practices and procedures, including safety and proper use of tools and equipment
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Human relations skills to build effective working relationships with staff, customers, and others
  • Knowledge of business English including vocabulary, spelling, and correct grammatical usage and punctuation
  • Mathematical ability including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, and analytical skills
  • Ability to have and maintain sufficient strength, agility and endurance to perform during stressful (physical, mental, and emotional) situations encountered on the job without compromising the employee's health and well-being or that of their co-workers or inmates
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Maneuvering in and around the worksite
  • Ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Standing and walking
  • Ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Bending, kneeling, reaching, and stooping
  • Ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Lifting boxes or equipment weighing up to 35 pounds, and up to 50 pounds occasionally
  • Ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Pushing or pulling objects such as vacuums, carts, mops, etc.
  • Ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: May be required to push/pull equipment weighing up to 70 pounds
  • Ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Grasping both small & large objects
  • Ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance: Climbing ladders and/or step stools
  • Ability to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work in a prison healthcare facility with specialized needs for security and environmental control
  • Ability to work confined space
  • Ability to work in aseptic areas with exposure to dirt, dust, odors, toxic chemicals, and infectious disease
  • Ability to work in high security areas with protocols
  • Ability to work in excess of 8 hours in a day and/or 40 hours per week
  • Ability to work in elements such as wind, rain, cold, and heat
