Job Summary
Collect trash, perform room setups, remove and deliver linen, and execute regular housekeeping duties including dusting furniture, cleaning windows, and vacuuming floors. Conduct discharge cleaning of guest rooms, nursing units, lounges, bathrooms, and ancillary areas while transporting large carts of linen. Maintain assigned guest and non-guest areas in sanitary condition by operating heavy-duty equipment and complying with OSHA regulations. Provide support for daily physical plant inspections and check for contrabands. Ensure the exterior facility remains clean and clutter-free while adhering to organizational dress code and policies.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months janitorial experience
- Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks effectively and efficiently
- Some experience working in an environment with mental health, substance use disorder or related health care
- Knowledge of sanitation protocols and cleaning methods
- Ability to operate all types of housekeeping equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor machines, carpet extractors, auto-scrubbers, pressure/steam cleaning machine, etc.)
- Reliable transportation
- TB test required
- Fingerprint live scan /background required
- Must be flexible to adapt to schedules changes to meet the needs of the facility
- Must utilize conversational speech for effective verbal communication
- Must attend all training and in-service provided
- Must be available for Friday - Tuesday, 8:00AM-4:30PM
- Must be able to lift/pull/push/move up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to frequently stand and walk
- Must be able to frequently bend/stoop, squat, reach above shoulders, twist, and turn, kneel
- Must be able to frequently push/pull
- Must be able to comply with OSHA's regulations
- Must be able to check and report any findings of contrabands
- Must be able to provide support and complete daily physical plant inspections
- Must be able to project a positive professional image and adhere to organizational dress code
- Must be able to always follow NHF policies and procedures
- Must be able to perform additional tasks/duties as assigned to meet the needs of the facility
Desired Qualifications
- Minimum 6 months janitorial experience, in Healthcare or Recuperative Care (preferred)
- Bi-lingual in Spanish Preferred
